Christian Monroe (Media Arts) Prior to working in the education field, Mr. Monroe spent several years striving to become a professional actor. He studied, traveled and auditioned in California, New York, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. He was involved in several film and television projects as either a background artist, stand in (Mel Gibson/George Clooney), or day player. He also appeared in many local college and community theatre productions. At that time, Mr. Monroe chose to move his career in a different direction and study what happens behind the camera. He graduated from Rowan University with a Specialization in Radio/TV/Film Production. He has been employed in the GEHRHSD since December 1998, starting off first as a Media Aide (1998-2001), a long term substitute, and the Distance Learning Coordinator (2003-2009), all at Oakcrest High School. He then transitioned to a part time Media teacher at Oakcrest (2008-2009). When Cedar Creek opened in 2010, Mr. Monroe jumped at the opportunity to start his own Media program. He loves being a part of this crew and looks forward to each new adventure at the Creek!
